Parent participation is important to your child's success in the club. Parents who participate help the club to grow and offer quality program development for all athletes. Being a part of your athletes commitment to swimming shows them that you value their sport and support their effort and dedication. Please see the volunteer requirements of Chinook families below. POLICY: All families are required to provide volunteers during the swim season. Opportunities to volunteer will be available at mini meets, travel meets and club events. Please read the volunteer information below. - Each family is required to provide one volunteer for our local mini meet. Job postings will be available online at the time of registration for the event.
- Credits will be counted for each volunteer opportunity you take.
- Volunteers will be assigned roles by the Volunteer Coordinator in accordance with need and experience of the volunteer. We ask that parents be flexible in the tasks that they accept so as to broaden their knowledge of the sport.
- As swimmers progress in the club, volunteers will also progress in their development as officials. Once your swimmer progresses into our Junior group we ask that members start to become certified as officials. This allows us to provide volunteers to other clubs when we travel to their meets. Positions to be certified in are as follows: Chief Timer and Stroke and Turn Judges. As our club grows and we have a larger pool of volunteers we will ask that members also certify as Starters, Clerk of Course, and Electronics
